    DELIVER THE DREAM BENEFIT

    Country music artists combine their talents for a great cause

    "Concert in the Round" benefits Deliver the Dream
     at Laurel Falls

       Brevard, N.C. – Country music's hottest new artist, Atlantic Recording's Craig Morgan, will host an all-star line-up of country music performers, for one night only, on Monday, Oct. 16th at 7 p.m. at the Paul Porter Center in Brevard, N.C.** Morgan has invited a talented group of artists to join him live on stage for Concert in the Round, including the legendary Suzy Bogguss and popular artists Jeff Carson and Shane Minor. A special performance by local favorites Marion Boatwright & the Weasel Creek
       String Band will kickoff the concert.

       All the artists have generously donated their performance to help raise money for Deliver the Dream at Laurel Falls, a one-of-a-kind, not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3) family retreat center where children, families and individuals facing a serious illness or crisis can go to regain strength, mend spirits and just be families again. A groundbreaking ceremony for Deliver the Dream will take place on Oct. 17 in Brevard and  feature national spokesperson and entertainer Bill Cosby, Morgan, Pat Moran, Deliver the Dream founder and CEO and various dignitaries.

       "I'm very honored and excited to be hosting this special event," said Morgan. "Concert in the Round will be a unique experience for the audience and it will be fun for me to share the stage with my friends in the industry while bringing awareness to a wonderful new facility for families."

       Concert in the Round takes it name from a format where all of the artists are on stage at one time, sometimes singing solo and sometimes together. It allows vocalists to blend their talents while being spontaneous, providing the audience with a more intimate performance. Sponsors of this unique benefit concert include Brevard College, The Transylvania Times, Asheville, N.C. radio stations WKSF-FM and WWNC-AM and JM Family Enterprises.

       "This concert means a great deal to me," said Bogguss. "It gives me a chance to reconnect with my North Carolina fans and it supports a wonderful new family retreat center. Deliver the Dream has struck a chord with me. For children who are seriously ill and for their families, it will be a wonderful escape in a beautiful setting."

       General admission tickets for the concert are $25 and go on sale Sept. 21st with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Deliver the Dream. Tickets can be purchased at the Paul Porter Center Box Office, 400 N. Broad Street, Brevard, or by calling the Box Office at 828-884-8330. Visa and MasterCard are accepted. In Hendersonville, tickets are available at Tempo Music Center, 244 North Main Street. In Asheville, tickets can be purchased at Almost Blue music store, 92 Patton Avenue and Malaprop's Café and Bookstore, 55 Haywood Street.

    BREAKING NEWGROUND;
    JOHN  BERRY, SUZY BOGGUSS, BILLY DEAN HIT THE ROAD WITH INNOVATIVE TOUR

    NASHVILLE - Country music entertainers John Berry, Suzy Bogguss and Billy Dean have hit the road with an innovative concept that introduces a new format to country music touring. Instead of the traditional format of each artist playing a solo set, the three stellar vocalists take the stage together to both open and close the show, providing harmonies for one another on hits like Bogguss' "Drive South", Dean's "We Just Disagree" and Berry's "What's In it For Me?".  Following the opening "set", each performer commands the stage for an individual performance, with all uniting once again to close the show.  There are no lengthy set changes, as they use one band throughout the evening.

    "I'm not sure this has ever been done in country music, at least not an entire show," says Bogguss. "You might see two artists getting together for one song during a tour, but I'm not aware of anyone doing a show like this one.  I'm having a good time, because sharing the stage with these two guys keeps me on my toes."

    "It's good to have a girl on the bus, because John and I can use her hair products," jokes Dean.  "We became friends when we were all signed to Capitol Records, so it's a real relaxed atmosphere for all of us.  Since we share a lot of musical influences, our music really complements one another's.  I really like the fact that we're using one band.  There's no interruption in the show to switch out gear and musicians, so the momentum on stage never stops. I think the fans will come to appreciate that."

    "We've all had other artists sing on our records, but this tour surpasses that by far," says Berry.  "When you have a guest artist in the studio, it's a one-shot deal.  This tour actually gives us the opportunity to let the fans see the behind-the-scenes friendships that develop in country music. We have a lot of fun on stage, and the audience sees that."

    The show is a non-stop showcase of hit songs performed by three of country music's finest vocalists, Each brings an individual style to the stage, ranging from Bogguss' Western influences to Dean's bluesy rendition of "I'm A Steamroller" to Berry's soaring tenor vocals. By the end of the night, they've explored the broad spectrum of country music's diversity, from the traditional to the contemporary.

    With five gigs under their collective belt, Berry, Bogguss and Dean look forward to criss-crossing the country together through mid-October. (See tour dates).
